CHARLOTTE, N.C.- Riding a six game winning streak, the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers continued their ascent up the NJCAA National Rankings on Monday, moving up three spots to #7 in the week seven poll.
The Bucs continued to punish opposing pitchers last week, scoring 31 runs in a three game sweep of Santa Fe. Thursday they blanked the Saints 9-0 in a seven inning run rule before winning a pair of high scoring contests 11-8 and 11-9 to complete the sweep. The wins push the Bucs over the 30 win mark on the season as they improve to 31-9 overall and 17-7 in Citrus Conference play where they now sit just one game out of the league lead with nine games left to go.
LSU Eunice continued their reign at the top with Blinn, Weatherford, Cowley, and Midland following in behind. The Bucs led five FCSAA squads in the poll including #8 Indian River, #11 Gulf Coast State, #12 Northwest Florida, and #18 Central Florida.
FSW is back in action on Tuesday with a non-conference date with South Florida State on the road before beginning a big three game Citrus Conference series against #18 Central Florida in Ocala on Thursday.
