Bucs Drop In Rankings Despite Top 25 Series Win
Despite winning a series against #23 State College of Florida over the weekend, the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers were dropped in the NJCAA National Rankings on Monday, falling one spot to #6 in the week five poll.
CHARLOTTE, N.C.- Despite winning a series against #23 State College of Florida over the weekend, the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers were dropped in the NJCAA National Rankings on Monday, falling one spot to #6 in the week five poll.
The Bucs moved to 25-7 on the year last week, winning two out of three games against #23 State College of Florida in a big Citrus Conference series. Thursday the two played a wild one in Bradenton with 15 runs scored in the 1st inning and FSW outlasting the Manatees 17-13 after over four hours of action. Saturday the two split a doubleheader with SCF winning a tight 5-3 opener before FSW responded with a dominate 10-0 win in game two to take the series.
Johnson County remained in the top spot while Midland and Blinn moved up one spot to #2 and #3, Cloud County jumped the Bucs to #4 while Chipola tumbled down three spots to #5 in front of FSW.
The Bucs are back in action on Tuesday when they go on the road to Fort Pierce to take on Indian River in non-conference play before beginning a three game Citrus Conference set with Daytona State Thursday at home at Buccaneers Park.
