Bucs' Greer Named FCSAA Pitcher of the Week
After throwing 6 2/3 scoreless innings in a Top 25 matchup against Central Florida on Friday, Florida SouthWestern’s Cole Greer has been tabbed the FCSAA Pitcher of the Week in a State release on Tuesday.
TALLAHASSEE, Fla.- After throwing 6 2/3 scoreless innings in a Top 25 matchup against Central Florida on Friday, Florida SouthWestern's Cole Greer has been tabbed the FCSAA Pitcher of the Week in a State release on Tuesday.
Greer stepped up when the Bucs needed him most on Friday as after Thursday's series opener with #20 Central Florida was postponed due to rain after just a half inning of play, FSW lost starting pitcher Gavin Kindell and needed another arm to answer the bell. Greer was that guy and answer the bell he did, throwing 6 2/3 scoreless innings, allowing just three hits to allow the Bucs to come from behind late to tie things up before winning 2-1 in extra innings.
Greer is the first FSW pitcher to receive FCSAA Pitcher of the Week honors since Brandon Eldridge in March of 2025.
Greer and the Bucs are back in action on Thursday at home at Buccaneers Park in Fort Myers when they host Seminole State in a Citrus Conference battle beginning at 3 PM.
