Bucs Righthander Signs With Owls
Florida SouthWestern righthander Anthony Wilkie will be staying in the Sunshine State next season after signing with Florida Atlantic University to continue his academic and athletic career in 2027.
FORT MYERS, Fla.- Florida SouthWestern righthander Anthony Wilkie will be staying in the Sunshine State next season after signing with Florida Atlantic University to continue his academic and athletic career in 2027.
Wilkie was a 2nd Team All-Citrus Conference selection for the Bucs as a freshman in 2026, leading the team in wins with seven, innings pitched with 56 1/3, and strikeouts with 60. He notched a 4.47 ERA in 15 appearances which included 12 starts for FSW. His best outing of the year came in a 6-0 shutout victory over Eastern Florida when he tossed five innings of one hit baseball, striking out eight to clinch the series win for the Bucs.
He joins an FAU squad coming off of a 28-28 campaign and a mid-pack finish in the American with a 12-15 mark. Wilkie will try to help the Owls back to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2019 next season.
Wilkie is one of 12 Division I signees off the Bucs 2026 roster, joining Robbie Demetree & Cole Greer (Tulane), Gavin Kindell (South Alabama), Greg Caban (Eastern Kentucky), Bishop Quarles (Stetson), Ryan Grzesiak (James Madison), Nick April-Gath (Florida International), Nicholas Lorenz (East Carolina), Judd Hildreth (Murray State), Parker Burgess (College of Charleston), and Evan Taveras (Central Florida).
