Bucs Continue Upward Trend in National Rankings
The Florida SouthWestern Buccaneers continued their winning streak and continued their climb in the NJCAA National Rankings on Monday, moving up one spot to #21 in the week 12 poll.
CHARLOTTE, N.C.- The Florida SouthWestern Buccaneers continued their winning streak and continued their climb in the NJCAA National Rankings on Monday, moving up one spot to #21 in the week 12 poll.
The Bucs earned a pair of decisive wins last week, running their winning streak to seven and their overall record to 19-5 on the year with a 69-57 victory over St. Petersburg on the road before coming home to thump Polk State 92-65. FSW has now won 12 of 13 overall and sits in first place in the Citrus Conference standings with a 9-1 mark with six games left to go.
The top of the week 12 poll remained steady with the top five being made up of Snow, Howard, Gulf Coast, Vincennes, and Indian Hills. The Bucs were once again one of six FCSAA teams in the rankings, led by Gulf Coast at #3, Tallahassee at #7, Northwest Florida at #10, Chipola at #13, and Daytona State at #15.
The Bucs have two road tests this week, first heading up the coast to Tampa to take on Hillsborough Wednesday at 7 before making the trek to Melbourne to play Eastern Florida Saturday in a 4 PM matinee.
