CHARLOTTE, N.C.- The Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers held their spot atop the NJCAA National Rankings for the fourth straight week on Monday, garnering all eight first place votes in the week eight poll.
The Bucs had a light schedule because of rain last week, winning their only two contests of the week 11-3 and 5-1 over Eastern Florida to improve to 43-3 on the year. The Bucs have won 32 straight games and are one win away from their seventh consecutive conference championship.
The top 10 teams in the week eight rankings all remained the same with a little bit of shuffling. FSW and Grayson remained #1 and #2 with Odessa and Walters State sliding up a spot and Northwest Florida slipping back to #5. The Bucs and Raiders were two of four Florida squads in the top 10 with Central Florida checking in at #8 and Seminole State at #10. Indian River also moved up a spot to #14 on the heels of their 40th win of the season.
The Bucs will be back in action on Wednesday against the aforementioned 14th ranked Pioneers of Indian River on the road in a Southern Conference doubleheader Wednesday beginning at 2 PM.
