Freshman (2024): Sanchez was one of the top players in the Citrus Conference last season at St. Petersburg, hitting .370 with four home runs and 29 RBIs while swiping 20 bases to earn 1st Team All-Conference and 1st Team FCSAA All-State accolades.  Most of Sanchez's production came in Citrus Conference play where he hit .405 with three of his four home runs and 24 of his 29 RBIs in 33 league games.  He had 19 multi-hit games as a freshman including five straight in late March when he hit .619 with eight RBIs against Miami Dade, Seminole St. and Eastern Florida. 

High School: Sanchez prepped at Sunshine State Elite Academy where he hit .401 with seven home runs and 48 RBIs as a senior. 

Personal: Born April 8, 2004, he is the son of Carlos Sanchez and Yanelis Paez. He has one sister, Camila.

Bucs Season Comes to Heartbreaking End In Junction

In the midst of their first trip to the Juco World Series in program history, the #6 Florida SouthWestern Buccaneers got a true taste of what Baseball in the Rockies is all about on Sunday night under the lights at Stocker Stadium in Grand Junction, Colorado as they went back and forth with #5 Blinn Buccaneers before watching a 13-10 9th inning lead erased on one swing of the bat to lose 14-13 and end their historic 2025 season.

Bucs Have Forgettable Debut at World Series

It was a night of highs and lows for the #6 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers on Saturday under the bright lights of Stocker Stadium in Grand Junction as the Bucs had the high of taking the field in the Juco World Series for the first time in program history, but the result was on the opposite side of history as FSW was hammered 16-2 by #15 Salt Lake, their most lopsided loss in program history.

JUNCTION BOUND! FSW Wins First FCSAA Championship, Punches Ticket to Juco World Series

For the first time in program history, the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers area headed to the Juco World Series! FSW punched their ticket to Grand Junction on Tuesday, holding on to defeat Central Florida 6-5 in the 2025 FCSAA Championship Game at Charlotte Sports Park. Michael McAloose had two big hits and three RBIs including a go ahead, two run home run in the 6th inning that proved to be the difference while three Bucs relievers combined for 3 2/3 innings of shutout baseball to lock the win down and start the celebration.

Patriots Take Shootout Over Bucs To Force Winner Take All FCSAA Championship Monday

On Friday, in their opening game of the FCSAA Final Four, 14 runs was more than enough for the #6 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers.  For eight innings in Sunday's Championship it looked like it might be just enough too, but a five run 9th by the #24 Central Florida Patriots spelled doom for the Bucs as the Patriots completed their comeback with an 18-14 win to force a winner take all Championship Game number two Monday with the winner moving on to the Juco World Series and the loser packing it up and calling it a season.

For the first time in program history, the #6 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers will play for an FCSAA Championship on Sunday after defeating #24 Central Florida 5-2 in the semifinals on Saturday to punch their ticket to the title game.

The #6 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers won a shootout in their opening game of the FCSAA Final Four on Friday, outlasting #22 State College of Florida 14-7 to advance to the semifinal round on Saturday where they will take on #24 Central Florida with a trip to the Championship Game on the line.

Bucs Hammer Pirates to Force Deciding Game in Fort Myers Regional

After a disappointing opening game of the Fort Myers Regional Friday, the #7 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers flipped the script on Saturday, hammering the Pensacola State Pirates 11-3 in a seven inning run rule to force a deciding game three Sunday at Buccaneers Park with a trip to the FCSAA Final Four on the line.

Bucs Battered In Regional Opener

A pair of big innings did the #7 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers in on Friday in their 2025 Fort Myers Regional opener against the Pensacola State Pirates as the upstart Pirates scored four in the 1st and five in the 6th to lead the way to a 12-6 win to put the Bucs in two must win situations Saturday and Sunday if their season is to continue.

#11 FSW Pushes Past Polk Late, Controls Destiny For League Title

Things couldn't have played out much better for the #11 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers on Thursday as not only did the Bucs go on the road and beat the Polk State Eagles 7-4, but they got some help in the league standings as Central Florida defeated Indian River meaning FSW is back in the driver's seat for the Citrus Conference Championship, controlling their own destiny heading into the final day of the 2025 regular season.

Bucs Drop Shootout With Manatees

Runs were aplenty Tuesday night as the #11 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers took on the State College of Florida Manatees in their final non-conference contest of the 2025 season.  It was a back and forth battle throughout, but the Bucs had an 11-9 lead going to the 9th inning before seeing that lead slip and eventually the Manatees walk them off in the 10th for a 12-11 victory to drop FSW to 36-13 on the year.

Bucs Win Series With Saturday Split Against Sharks

For the second straight weekend, the #10 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers had a chance to finish off a sweep, but were forced to settle for a series win on Saturday, taking game one over Miami Dade 7-3 behind seven unanswered runs before dropping the series finale 3-1 to close the weekend winning two out of three against the Sharks and in turn, clinching home field advantage for the regional round of the FCSAA State Tournament May 2-4.

The #10 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers won their sixth straight Citrus Conference series opener Thursday afternoon at Buccaneers Park in Fort Myers, scoring eight runs in the final two innings to run rule the Miami Dade Sharks 9-1 and improve to 35-11 on the year.

Bucs On Opposite Ends of Blowouts Against #18 Central Florida

It was the tale of two games on Saturday for the #7 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers as the Bucs cruised to their ninth straight win in a 10-0 five inning run rule in game one of their Citrus Conference doubleheader agianst the #18 Central Florida Patriots, but in game two it was quite the opposite story as the Patriots put it on FSW 14-3 in a five inning run rule of their own to split the doubleheader.

The #7 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers won their eighth straight game Thursday afternoon on the road in Ocala, using four RBI days from Nik Pereira and Ty Hamilton to blow past the #18 Central Florida Patriots 11-5 to begin a key three game Citrus Conference series between the two.

Bucs Launch Four Homers, Cole Wins 100th With FSW

The #7 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers launched four home runs in a 13-3 run rule rout of the NJCAA DII #16 South Florida State Panthers Tuesday night in Avon Park to give FSW Head Coach Zac Cole his 100th career win with the Purple and Aqua.

Bucs Make Short Work Of Falcons In Sweep

The #13 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers put on a show Friday afternoon at Buccaneers Park in Fort Myers, hammering Daytona State 12-0 and 17-3 in a pair of five inning run rules to complete the three game sweep of the Falcons in Citrus Conference action.

Bucs Batter Daytona in Series Opener

Coming off of a disappointing series loss against Eastern Florida a week ago, the #13 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers came out swinging on Thursday in their series opener against Daytona State, getting a three run home run from Jake Mueller in the 1st to take an early lead and they never looked back, ultimately hammering the Falcons 10-2 in an eight inning run rule to take the lead in the three game set between the two.

Late Lapses Cost Bucs Series Against Titans

A pair of late lapses cost the #5 Florida SouthWestern Buccaneers two games Saturday afternoon at home against Eastern Florida at Buccaneers Park in Fort Myers as FSW allowed five runs with two outs in the 9th of game one to lose 11-8 and gave up three in the 8th in game two to fall 5-2 to drop the Citrus Conference series to the Titans.

Bucs Bang Out 18 Hits In Series Opening Win

Eight players recorded multi-hit games as the #5 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers put on a clinic with the bats Thursday night under the lights at Bruce Bochy Field in Melbourne, defeating the Eastern Florida State Titans 15-9 to take the early lead in the three game Citrus Conference series between the two.

The #5 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers scored early and often Tuesday afternoon, hammering the visiting State College of Florida Manatees 11-1 in non-league action to improve to 24-7 on the year.

Abel Albarran and Josiah Velazquez combined on a five hit shutout as the #6 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers blanked the Seminole State Raiders 6-0 in the opening game of a three game series Thursday at Buccaneers Park in Fort Myers.

Bucs Walk Off Manatees to Win Series

After being shutout in game one of Saturday's doubleheader against the State College of Florida Manatees, the #11 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers bounced back to win a wild 15-14 decision in walk off fashion in game two to split the day and clinch the Citrus Conference series between the two budding rivals.

McLaughlin's Gem Salvages Saturday Split For Bucs

Andrew McLaughlin fired five shutout innings to lead the #2 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers to a 10-0 game one win over the Hillsborough Hawks Saturday afternoon in Tampa, but the Bucs couldn't win the second game of the doubleheader to take the series, falling 8-7 to drop to 16-5 on the year.

9th Inning Comeback Earns Bucs Tie

Down 5-3 heading into the 9th inning, the #2 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers scored a pair of runs to level the score against the St. Petersburg Titans Tuesday night. They wouldn't be able to complete the comeback however as a dust up at the end of the 9th forced the game to be called on the spot with the Bucs and Titans settling for the time being with a 5-5 tie in non-conference action.

McLaughlin & Burgess Dominate In Big Bucs Sweep

February Baseball games don't get much bigger than the Citrus Conference doubleheader between the #4 Florida SouthWestern Buccaneers and the #22 Indian River State Pioneers Saturday afternoon at Buccaneers Park in Fort Myers. The top two teams in the league standings squared off in a pair of pitcher's duals with Andrew McLaughlin gutting out six dominant innings in a 5-2 FSW win in game one before Parker Burgess took the ball and was nearly unhittable over six shutout innings, leading the Bucs to their first nine inning shutout since 2022 and their first 1-0 win since January of 2019.

Parks/Ruocco Swing Bucs to Sweep of St. Pete

Devin Parks and Anthony Ruocco combined for 12 hits Saturday as the #4 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers took both games of a doubleheader against the St. Petersburg Titans by scores of 7-6 and 12-3 to sweep the three game set to open Citrus Conference play.

Mueller's Big Day Leads Bucs Over Titans in Citrus Opener

Jake Mueller went a perfect 4 for 4 and drove in five to lead a dominating effort for the #4 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers in their Citrus Conference opener Thursday against St. Petersburg as the Bucs rolled 15-6 in a six inning run rule for their 11th consecutive win.

Bucs Slam Stingers On Super Sunday

While the eyes of the sports world was on the Super Bowl on Sunday, the #4 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers were tangling with the #8 Florence Darlington Tech Stingers in an NJCAA Top 10 battle for the second straight day. A pair of three run innings in the middle of the game and six shutout innings from the FSW bullpen led the Bucs to an 8-1 victory for their 10th consecutive win to improve to 10-1 on the year.

The #4 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers earned a pair of signature early season wins on Saturday at the Capital City Bank Classic in Palatka, first defeating DII #3 St. Johns River 7-4 before taking it to #8 Florence Darlington Tech 13-6 to improve to 9-1 on the year.

Deja Vu! Hamilton Walks It Off Again For Bucs to Complete Sweep

Once again it took some late game dramatics for the #4 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers to come away with a victory on Sunday as FSW erased a three run 8th inning deficit and got a walk off single from Ty Hamilton for the second straight day to stun Chattahoochee Valley 7-6 and complete the weekend sweep of the Pirates.

The #4 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers picked up their fourth straight win in dramatic fashion Saturday afternoon at Buccaneers Park in Fort Myers, getting a late game home run from Jake Mueller and a walk off knock in the bottom of the 10th inning from Ty Hamilton to beat the Chattahoochee Valley Pirates 8-7 in game two of their three game weekend series.

Pitching, Clutch Hitting Leads #4 FSW Over Vikings

On Opening Day of the 2025 season, the #4 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers struggled to find the strike zone, walking 13, and coming up with the big hit, going just 2-14 with runners in scoring position in a 4-3 loss to D2 #3 St. Johns River, but Sunday they flipped the script, striking out 13 Vikings and walking just three while coming up with four key hits with ducks on the pond for a dominating 7-1 win to split the opening weekend series.
